Gnome-Pie 0.7.3

  • Improvement: Updated Italian translation (thank you, Albano Battistella).

  • Improvement: Gnome-Pie now uses window type dialog which should render it above other full screen windows.

Gnome-Pie 0.7.2

  • New Feature: Pies will not close when CTRL or SHIFT is pressed while clicking. This feature got requested several times so it is now reality! You can now perform multiple actions without having to re-open the pie.
  • Improvement: Gnome-Pie switched from GPL to MIT license.
  • Improvement: Gnome-Pie will now hide when it looses focus. This is helpful under wayland when users click on panels for example.

Gnome-Pie 0.7.1

  • New Feature: Basic Wayland support with the following limitations:
    • No key bindings.
    • No delayed activation.
    • No turbo activation.
    • No mouse pointer warping.
    • Only centered Pies.
    • Transparent fullscreen windows are used.
    • No window list slice group
  • All related options are removed from the user interface when Gnome-Pie is started on Wayland.
  • Improvement: The code for bookmark monitoring has been simplified.
  • Improvement: Many deprecation warnings of GTK 3.20 and GTK 3.22 have been fixed.
  • Improvement: The Russian translation has been updated (thank you, Ashed).
  • Improvement: When an icon is not found, “image-missing” is used as fallback. This is a standard icon name and should be available in almost all icon themes.
  • Improvement: Gnome-Pie will now search for icons in ~/.icons. All images put in this directory will be available in the icon selection dialog1
  • Improvement: Gnome-Pie will use GTK3 bookmarks if .gtk-bookmarks are not found.

  • Bugfix: Bookmarks slice group now supports bookmark names with spaces.

Gnome-Pie 0.7.0

  • New Feature: Added the possibility to automatically fill the fields “name”, “command” and “icon” of a new slice by selecting an application from a list.
  • Improvement: The library “bamf” which has been made optional before is now completely removed from the dependencies. This makes the code base easier to manage and it seems that there is no improvement to the icon selection when using this library.
  • Bugfix: It is now possible again to drag’n’drop URLs and URIs to the pie preview.
  • Bugfix: Long press for activation of slices works again (hopefully :D). This closes issues 136 and 132

Gnome-Pie 0.6.9

  • New Feature: Added the possibility to assign hotkeys to combinations of mouse buttons and modifier keys. It’s now possible to open Pies with combinations such as Ctrl-RightButton.
  • Improvement: The library “bamf” (which is used for matching icons to applications by the window-list slice-group) has been made an optional dependency. On systems where bamf is not available, it’s still possible to use Gnome-Pie. In most cases the icons chosen without bamf will be the same anyway.
  • Improvement: The clock’s fingers of the Simple Clock theme do not disappear fully when a slice is active.
  • Improvement: The preferences window now has the Gnome-Pie icon when it is present in the user’s icon theme.
  • Improvement: Several translations have been updated.
  • Bugfix: Improved modifier key managment. Activating a hotkey with a Slice is now possible even if the user holds down a modifier which is not part of the hotkey. Until now, when a user clicked on a Slice which simulates Ctrl-Z the desired action was not triggered when the user held the Alt while clicking. Doing this is possible now.
  • Bugfix: Turbo mode works quite reliably again. There were certain conditions under which the turbo mode would not work as expected. Hopefully, most of the issues are fixed now.

Gnome-Pie 0.6.8

  • New Feature: Center layers in themes support now four new rotation modes: turn_to_second, turn_to_minute, turn_to_hour_12 and turn_to_hour_24.
  • New Feature: New theme: Simple Clock.
  • New Feature: New theme: Space Clock.
  • New Feature: It’s now possible to reload all themes with a button in the settings menu.
  • New Feature: It’s now possible to open a file browser at the location of the currently selected theme with a button in the settings menu.
  • Bugfix: A bug has been fixed which caused the running instance of Gnome-Pie to open a pie when the settings menu was requested over the D-Bus (Thank you Marc-Antoine).

Gnome-Pie 0.6.7

  • New Feature: The Clipboard Group. It remembers an adjustable amount of your last copied items and allows for pasting them.
  • New Feature: It’s now possible to delete imported themes.
  • New Feature: Slices can be activated with the key pad’s return key (thank you, Gabriel Dubatti!).
  • New Feature: It’s now possible to load themes which are stored in a directory in an archive.
  • Update: The window list groups have been merged into one group. This new group has an option whether to show windows of the current workspace only.

Gnome-Pie 0.6.6

  • Bugfix: When typing slice names to select them, the typed letters are reset after a short delay. This allows for selecting an item even if you typed some wrong letters in the first place.

Gnome-Pie 0.6.5

  • New Feature: Added possibility to select slices by typing their names.
  • New Feature: Its now possible to position each theme layer (icons, files and slice caption) relative to their centers with a x-offset and a y-offset (fixes issue #115).

Gnome-Pie 0.6.4

Gnome-Pie 0.6.3

  • New Feature: Lithuanian translation (thank you, Moo!).
  • New Feature: Added a commandline option to print a list of all pies with their according IDs (--print-ids).
  • Update: The preferences dialog now uses the Gtk.StackSwitcher and Gtk.HeaderBar per default. Use the commandline arguments --no-stack-switcher and --no-header-bar to revert to the old behavior.

Gnome-Pie 0.6.2

Gnome-Pie 0.6.1

  • New Feature: Thanks to Gabriel Dubatti its now possible to have half or quarter pies. The pie shape can be choosen automatically depending on the location of the mouse cursor while openening the pie.
  • New Feature: Thanks to Gabriel Dubatti its now possible to define a maximum number of slices per pie. If there are more, you will have the possibility to scroll through the pie with your mouse wheel or Page-Up & Page-Down.

Gnome-Pie 0.5.4
